I am Lauriel (aged 8)

I am a girl who likes the colour purple
I wonder if there are going to be more children coming to our school
I hear the sound of the wind blowing the leaves off the trees
I see children running up and down in the park
I want to to be a singer
I am a girl who likes the colour purple

I pretend to be a singer
I feel like I am a famous singer
I touch beautiful butterflies flying up in the sky
I worry about my family
I cry when someone in my family dies
I am a girl who likes the colour purple

I understand Samoan
I say 'hello' to my friends
I dream about being a great singer
I try to do my best at school
I hope to be a winner in NZ Idol
I am a girl who likes the colour purple

Welcome to Learning Zone 12

Kia Ora, Tena Koutou,
Thank you for dropping in to read our Blog. We are a Year 3 & 4 Class at a brand new school of the future. Mission Heights School is situated at 103 Jeffs Road in Flatbush, Auckland, New Zealand. It is the coolest school in New Zealand which opened on 4th February 2009 and is leading the way in 21st century teaching and learning.

Learning Zone 12 is made up of 23 enthusiastic learners who come from many countries such as New Zealand, China, Korea, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Fiji, South Africa, Australia, England, Italy, Tonga and Samoa. Since 15th September we have a new teacher, Mrs Kree Raman, who previously taught at Kelvin Road School in Papakura and Eastdene Combined School in South Africa. Our teacher inspires us to dream more, learn more, do more and become more.

We hope you enjoy reading our posts and viewing our photos. Our top favourite is the *Delicious Bookmarks* which has cool educational links such as online maths games, spelling games and storybooks.
